Why do I need a retrofit?
To qualify the manufactured home for FHA, VA and certain types for Conventional Insured Financing.
How is it different from the existing foundation?
It must be something permanent in addition to the concrete blocks and steel straps which are required by the Manufacturer of all manufactured homes and considered the foundation. It usually consists of steel pipe or tubing anchored in concrete and welded or bolted to the “I” beam of the home. The final design depends on the Engineer.
How long does it take to do a retrofit?
The installation generally takes a half day or less.
Do you have to move the home to install the retrofit?
No. We install to the existing elevation of the home without disturbing it’s position.
When do I get the Engineer’s Certification?
Usually within twenty four hours of the completion of the work.
Does the price vary depending on the size of the Manufactured Home?
No. Our Engineer designs the same retrofit regardless of the size of the home.
How much does it cost?
Generally less than $3,000.00 depending on the location of the home. We are capable and willing to wait to be paid at the Closing of the new loan, but we offer a 10% discount if we are paid on completion.
